Chain of Oak is a through the bunghole delivery system designed by Innerstave to benefit those winemakers who do not require an intense oak flavor. This system is winemaker installed and versatile as winemakers can vary the number of oak links in the chain to obtain the desired oak impact. Each chain imparts one-third the amount of oak flavor of a new Barrel Innerstave.

Chain of Oak is used most exclusively in barrel aging programs.

French Light Oak provides oak structure without being overwhelming, lifting the varietals attributes and allowing the fruit to shine prominently.  The flavors provide delicate sweetness, creaminess and roundness to the mouth feel with a fruit driven finish.

French Medium Toast provides complex, pleasantly mild and delicate toasted oak characters and aromas of vanilla, caramel, chocolate, hazelnut, oatmeal with honey, graham cracker, with a touch of cinnamon and nutmeg. The flavors provide sweetness, creaminess and roundness to the mouth feel with a lingering non-aggressive toast character.

French Medium-Plus Toast provides complex, pleasant and well defined toasted oak characters and aromas of vanilla, toffee, butterscotch, chocolate, coffee, mocha, graham cracker, with a touch of nutmeg and clove. The flavors provide sweetness, creaminess and roundness to the mouth feel with a lingering pronounced toast character.

French Plus Plus Oak provides complex, pleasant and well defined toasted oak characters and aromas of maple syrup, dark chocolate, coffee, nutmeg, clove, with a touch of smoked meat character. The flavors provide sweetness with a nice pronounced spice, creaminess and roundness to the mouth feel with a lingering pronounced toast character.

American Medium Toast provides complex, pleasantly mild and delicate toasted oak characters and aromas of vanilla, caramel, chocolate, hazelnut, oatmeal with honey, graham cracker, with a touch of coconut and clove. The flavors provide sweetness, creaminess and roundness to the mouth feel with a lingering non-aggressive toast character.
